The West Wicklow Chamber Music Festival brings passionate artists and audiences from Ireland and abroad to Wicklow each May and November for the enjoyment of all.
The festival needed a rebrand along with a responsive website for multiple devices to reflect the vibrant, dynamic nature of the music and its audience. The goals for the new website were to refresh its online presence, challenge the preconceptions of classical music, and mirror the renowned festival experience.
A passion for classical music and accessibility drove the design concept. The website is a digital embodiment of that ardent energy and creativity through colour, contrasting typography, and emotive imagery from previous festivals. The use of both serif (Century-old style std) and sans serif (Neue-Haas-Grotesk-display) fonts serves to highlight how the festival bridges the gap between the historic and modern.
The information architecture provides a multitude of ways for the user to explore the seasonal festival in a clear cohesive manner. Using a bright colour palette along with subtle micro-interactions gives the site a clean, contemporary feel. With its clear navigation visitors can easily book events, plan their visit and see what Wicklow has to offer.
