With a move from a branded chain of hotels to individually branded destination hotels the O’Callaghan Hotel group asked us to rebrand one of their locations. The Alexander Hotel is centrally located close to Merrion Square in Dublin 2 and was to be relaunched as a more contemporary hotel to appeal to the discerning European business and leisure visitor. We worked closely with interior architects 21 Spaces to reimagine the hotel.
We created a new identity for the hotel which was to go by the shortened moniker of ‘The Alex’. A simple, contemporary wordmark was paired with a fresh pastel colour palette which worked with the newly refitted interior. The half and half design detail stems from some of the interior wall finishes featured in the hotel.
Alongside a number of key print applications we also rolled the new identity out to a comprehensive and impactful signage programme throughout the hotel, which included an eight metre long faux train departure board above the lifts, and a feature 'Relax' neon sign in the lounge area.
