Saffron

We were delighted to be invited to design an identity and collateral for Saffron, a new restaurant opening in Derry in summer 2013. The proprieters, Suki and Sukhjit Nagra, envisioned a modern Indian restaurant serving a fusion of Indian and European style dishes. The ground floor of the new venue was to house both a takeaway and an all day cafe serving a mix of light European and Indian dishes, while upstairs there would be a more formal Indian restaurant open in the evenings.

The logo we designed loosely references sanskrit type but in a very cosmopolitan and contemporary style. We came up with names to explain the two offers on the ground floor - these names sit above the logo, employing the line above it as a divider device. The interior was designed by 21 Spaces.
