RTÉ’s A Poem for Ireland was a TV, radio and website campaign that encouraged the public to vote for their favourite Irish poem from the last 100 years. The website had three stages that reflected the stages of the campaign. The first stage was a call for suggested poems. Users could submit a suggested poem and leave a comment. Ten poems were then shortlisted by an RTÉ selected jury for stage two. Each poem was accompanied by a selection of video, sound and image files. Users could also submit content in relation to the poem that appealed most to them. The final stage allowed the users to vote online and finally the winner was announced on The Works.
