# Magazine was motivated by an interest in developing a sustainable publishing outlet for participants, advisors and guests of the Van Eyck, Holland. Concerned with (stages of) production, the periodical rhythm of the magazine form enables this gesture. In line with the idea of making the practices, dialogues and activities public, #01 presents a collection of un-edited material whereby the contributors open up their practice(s) to the magazine. The published material is not fixed or necessarily finished products, but select previews and snapshots of various phases of production.

The launch of #01 took the form of an exhibition, 28th Jun-22nd Aug 2013, at the Van Eyck, which marked the next stage in # magazines production cycle - that of distribution.
