KnowingUnknowing

A collaboration with Farpoint Recordings for the KnowingUnknowing project by guitarist/composer/improviser Benjamin Dwyer with dancer Helen Kindred and filmmaker Pete Gomes. The visual challenge was how to convey the journeys of the three artists as they collaborated as part of the project. Our response was to map their journeys through the process, each coming from a different starting point and how their paths intersected and diverged throughout the project. The path for each artist jumps from a continuous line to a broken line, this reflects the artist drifting from the 'known' elements of their practice to the 'unknown' where they moved into the improvisation space. The filmed performance which was the DVD element was a paired back, stark affair. we wanted the look and feel of the packaging to reflect this so we went with a minimal colour palette of two printed colours throughout.
