When approached by Killowen Farm to update their natural yogurt brand we were aware that it was in bad need of modernisation to bring it into a contemporary space in a very competitive retail market.
Killowen’s ‘Single Origin Dairy’ farm presented us with a very unique starting point on where the brand should go within the category. The fact that all of the dairy used in their yogurts travels ‘metres not miles’ from the herd on their farm is a very positive aspect of the brand.
We commissioned the illustrator Alana Keenan to create a stylised representation of the farm landscape and the ingredients that are used in each of the yogurts bringing the brand a visual language that would warm up a very coldly branded category. This warmth would elevate it above the competitors of cold mass-produced dairy products. The result is a highly impactful brand that successfully portrays its natural makeup and has a truly unique personality on shelf.
Showing the special relationship between the dairy herd and the family was a very important part of the brand revamp also, where every opportunity from on to off pack was used to elevate the story of the farm and the family who have managed farms for over nine generations.
