Into the Light: The Arts Council – 60 Years of Supporting the Arts was a major series of exhibitions celebrating 60 years of support for artists and the visual arts by the Arts Council.
Widely regarded as the most significant and important exhibition of Irish Art since ROSC. The collection was presented under a series of themes at the Hugh Lane Gallery, Limerick City Gallery, the Crawford and the Model and Niland Gallery in 2012–2013.
A complex typographic undertaking, the accompanying 370pp case-bound book featured over one hundred of the works selected for exhibition, in addition to essays and a visual timeline exploring the visual arts and arts policy in Ireland over the past 60 years. The book also records in a detailed appendix every artwork purchased by the Arts Council and the loan and exhibition history of these works.
