I Am A Bird Now - Poster

With all posters for Theatre Upstairs, there is an opportunity to create promotional imagery for an original piece of writing. The brief called for the imagery to reflect a new show that looks at issues of masculinity, trauma and non-conformity.

As the piece progresses, the central character's layered and severed personality is revealed to us through glimpses into their past.

The poster design needed to reflect the honest and sensitive tone of this play, moving away from stereotypical and traditional views on the matter. I sought to respond to the inherent themes of body manipulation through dynamic shapes and slices, rather than relying on shock imagery.
