The design of the new mark for the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland has been informed by contemporary and traditional Irish craft and design influences. The symmetrical forms of the mark echo the many simple forms found with the Irish vernacular. The robust shapes and flexible arrangement with the type ensure the new mark appropriately endorses the wide range of creative expressions represented by the Council.
The custom lettering was designed to reflect the geometric shapes of the mark but also capture a sense of the human hand.
