Last year one of our clients approached us with an interesting sideline project he and his wife were embarking on.
Between them they have an expertise in and a love of both film and coffee, so on discovering that an old cinema building in Carlingford was up for sale, they saw an irresistible opportunity to convert it into a boutique coffee roastery.
It was important to them that the finished product not appear too polished, they loved the gritty and graphic feel of film noir photography and commissioned a photographer friend, Ed Lovelace, to take some candid photographs of the site and their process in this style.
We were brought on board to generate a name for the concept, and create a brand, packaging and web presence. The identity was inspired by vintage cinema lightboxes, and the typestyle is clean and minimalist to compliment the graphic nature of the photography.
