LP and CD artwork for Aoife Nessa Frances' debut album 'Land of No Junction' on Basin Rock Records.
The first lyric of the album became a starting point with which to collate and layer imagery: "A light in an empty room...", mirrored in Aila Harryson Lorigan's photograph used on the inner sleeve.
Aleana Egan's artwork was approached by thinking architecturally about interior spaces and the way Aoife Nessa France's music provided a dense but uplifting sensation (such as smoke or perfume moving around an enclosed space).
Using a limited palette of dark blue and turquoise created a relationship between shadow and light, with Cáit Fahey's cover photograph emanating warmth and a human connection emerging within.
Alice Savoie's Faune font in Italic Script and Display Black provided a contrast between the ethereal interiority of the album with the idea of place and destination from the album's title.
The sleeve was printed on a linen-grain textured stock to relate to the layering of fabric in Aleana Egan's artwork, as well as a feeling of touch, domesticity, and nostalgia. Promotional postcards with 'wraparound' artwork, and a risograph poster were produced to promote the album incorporating layered imagery from the design process.
