How do we preserve digital-born content — websites, apps, software and systems — when our means of making, using and saving them change so quickly? How will we look back on the digital products and experiences of the early 21st century, and what would we want to learn from them in decades, or even centuries to come?
Join the 100 Archive and the National Library of Ireland on Wednesday 22 August at 6.30pm for a discussion on making, preserving and learning from digital design. Speakers include design historian Sorcha O’Brien, Aiden Kenny, designer at Frontend, and Joanna Finegan of NLI’s Digital Collections Department.
Save As: creating and preserving Irish digital design is presented as part of Heritage Week and the European Year of Cultural Heritage. 100 Archive is participating in Heritage Week for the first time in order to mark our project funding from the Heritage Council. The Heritage Council has provided support for a number of changes to our website which will be revealed in the autumn. Watch this space, and in the meantime, see you in the National Library of Ireland!
